Resistance, Vagabondage, Institutional Analysis
International conference organised by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in cooperation with Kunsthochschule für Medien Cologne and eipcp - European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies.
The conference actualizes the diverse genealogies and environments of the Catalan-French psychiatrist François Tosquelles (1912-1994). Starting from the transversal practice at the St. Alban clinic, which inspired Oury, Guattari, Fanon, Michaud, Deligny and many others, the lectures deal with the history and relevance of anti-fascist social structures, from institutional analysis to artistic research and political philosophy. Transversality refers not only to the institutional practices in Lozère, Blida, La Borde and Monoblet, and the connected social movements around 1968, but also to the discursive and activist interventions of the eipcp's current publication platform: transversal.at.
