For Graduates: Applications for START studios are now being accepted
The Cultural Affairs Department of the City of Vienna (MA7) awards workspaces in START studios every two years in the field of visual arts. Each workspace is approximately 30 square meters. Applications are accepted from July 1 to 31, 2026, for a studio available between March 2027 and February 2029.
Graduates of the two Viennese art universities (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and University of Applied Arts Vienna) in the fields of Fine Arts and Media Arts are eligible to apply. These graduates must have completed their studies between August 1, 2024, and the application deadline of July 31, 2026, with a degree of Mag.art, M.A., or PhD. Applicants must also be able to prove that they have been a resident of Vienna since at least January 1, 2024, at the time of application.
The START studio spaces are rent-free and free of operating costs and are located in a shared studio in the 6th district.
