The 11th Living Knowledge Conference, titled "Research and Solidarity" will be hosted 7–10 July 2026 in Gdansk. The conference welcomes welcomes everyone involved in supporting, facilitating, or conducting community-driven, collaborative research. The call for contributions has been extended to 18 January 2026.

Early career researchers and practitioners working in community-based research, engaged research, and citizen science are especially encouraged to submit proposals. 

Theme

The sub-themes of the conference theme "Research and Solidary" are: 

  • Foundations of Research Solidarity
  • Fostering University-Community Solidarity
  • Student Engagement and Learning Through Solidarity
  • Global Networks and Transnational Solidarity
  • Environmental Justice and Planetary Solidarity
  • Health, Solidarity and Community Wellbeing
  • Ethics, Power, and Dilemmas in Solidarity-based Research
  • Methods and Approaches to Studying Solidarity

Submission

To maximise the opportunities for people to present and interact, a range of formats are available. Priority will be given to proposals that have a strong interactive element. 

  • Posters
  • Research Presentations
  • 5-minute pitch
  • Story Telling Sessions
  • Workshops (Skills training or Problem-solving)
  • Arts-based sessions
  • Full sessions, panels, and round-tables discuss a central theme from various angles.

The deadline for submitting proposals has been postponed from 15 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
