Plant Libraries!
Bring your zines! Nina Prader will present her Lady Liberty Library Reader in a lecture and invite everyone to join in—as part of the Academy Library’s event series Wer A… sagt.
Lady Liberty Library Reader is a hybrid format, modelled on an independent magazine, theory reader, and visual archive. The reader documents, celebrates, and certifies highlights from ten years of the Austrian-American artist Nina Prader’s practice under the label and artist name Lady Liberty Press.
Libraries and monuments made of printed matter are the pillars of Nina Prader’s fine art practice, including inspirational references, and independent and interdependent content on independent publishing. This reader showcases resources, publishing companions, and guiding texts for the first time in one bound place. A rallying call to plant libraries, everywhere!
Just in time for spring, a display case at the Library of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna blossoms into a community garden and flowerbed made of printed matters. A lecture and artistic intervention transform the library into a space of action.
Bring your zines and/or artists’ books to be added to the holdings of the University Library at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and/or the Lady Liberty Library.
