In the academic year 2025/26, the Füger Prize will be awarded in the amount of 1,500 euros. Founded in 1819 in memory of Heinrich Friedrich Füger, professor and later director of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (1751-1818), this prize is awarded yearly to students by the Preisjury Kunst.

The jury comprises representatives from all fields of study (nominated by the heads of the institutes) and two external members (nominated by the Senate). This prize is intended to honor Füger's outstanding
commitment to giving drawing a central role in arts education.

Conditions of tender

  • An application can be made in the secretariats of the respective institute. The exact deadline for registration will be posted at the respective institutes.
  • A list of the participants must be submitted by the offices of the institutes to the Registrar's office by Monday, 22 June 2026 at the latest.

Submission of work

  • Thursday, 25 June 2026, 9–11 h (according to the list of participants).
  • Mehrzwecksaal/Atelierhaus – 1060 Wien, Léhargasse 8 (2. floor) to Mag.a Theresa Eipeldauer.
  • No work can be handed in later.


The submitted drawing must be marked with the name on the back. The student ID card must be shown
when submitting the work. The drawings must be collected from the Mehrzwecksaal/Atelierhaus after
the jury meeting on Thursday, 25 June 2026, between 15 and 16 h. The identity card must also be taken back with you.
