    Workshop 1 accompanying the call for design-oriented publications Fine Companions 2025

    The call for submissions for new, design-oriented volumes of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is open until 18.3.2026. The call is aimed at employees (including project staff) and students of the Academy. Before the deadline, there will be the opportunity to take part in two workshops with the book designer Astrid Seme and Thomas Geiger of Mark Pezinger Books.

  • Die Stürze (The Falls)

    Performance on the theme of falling, based on Amitav Ghosh's book The Nutmeg's Curse. What must fall and how? Falling backwards, changing direction, falling in slow motion. The audience experiences falls to come, in the Gallery of the Studio Building.

    Opening of an exhibition on the significance of sculpture between geometric form and the primacy of experience as part of the Academy Library‘s Wer A.. sagt series.

    The color photograph shows four concrete sculptures in different shades of grey by Rouven Dürr, each composed of two to three cuboids. They stand on a simple table consisting of a wooden top and trestles. The studio wall in the background shows splashes of paint, the word “schauen” [look] written in delicate capitals is recognizable.
