    Open Days 2027

    During Rundgang (Open Days), institutes will open their atelier doors and studios, and performances, discussions and educational programs are offered. The annual Academy Auction will also take place as part of the tour, for which world-famous and even lesser-known artists will make works available for auction.

    Lectures for Future

    Lecture series in the winter semester 2026/27. Lectures for Future (L4F) is an interdisciplinary lecture series that has been offered at various Austrian universities since the winter semester of 2019. In L4F, researchers provide insights into their current scientific and artistic work on the topics of climate crisis and sustainable development.

    The Great Michelangelo Is Dead! Avant-Garde and Academicism

    The exhibition The Great Michelangelo Is Dead! Avant-Garde and Academicism aims to give new form to an age-old debate. It will not use academicism a pejorative label for all that is outdated, nor credit the avant-garde with a monopoly on the new. Rather, the objective is to uncover the creative dynamic playing out between these two poles – both in a deep historical perspective and as it currently demarcates positions in the field of contemporary art.
