Workshop with Stella Geppert

The workshop explores how and on which levels we communicate with space, people and other species in an embodied way. Inspired by her latest work LA MODULATION SISMORGRAPHIQUE Stella Geppert explores the multidimensionality of communication. She works with "vocals" that stimulate the human organs. The accumulated daily movements of the body are transformed into micro-movements in the form of an increasingly resting body that surrenders to the inner times of the organs. Movements and actions that we perform daily are made physically experienceable on an expanded level of consciousness. Basic knowledge of walking and breathing techniques in the form of movement exercises will be incorporated. This workshop is suitable as preparation for participation in the performance IMMERSION (collective).

The workshop is aimed at people, who want to explore body and space phenomena more deeply. The exercises do not require a background in contemporary dance technique. Part of the work will be individual body exploration. There will be mutual touching. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket and if possible five small cushions. Clothes can also be rolled up as a substitute.

Stella Geppert is a sculptor and performer. She studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts Paris and at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Her work is concerned with embodied communication, collective trauma, transgenerational transmission, empathy and breathing. She explores the energetic states of the body and unconscious movements, for example when sleeping, speaking and touching. For her, the medium of drawing is an imprint of human interaction in which bodily movements are inscribed three-dimensionally.
