Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn, Beggar Seated on a Bank (Self-Portrait), 1630, etching © Graphic Collection of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

An etching, showing a man. He is sitting on an unrecognisable ground, his posture slightly bent forward. He wears simple, loose clothing and a simple headdress on his dishevelled hair. His body is seen obliquely from the right side, but his face and gaze are turned towards us. His mouth is slightly open, his facial expression seems tense. The etching is done in rough lines and hatching.
