Doctoral students from Austria can still apply for a one-year research stay in Edmonton until 15 April. The resources of one of Canada's largest research libraries are available and one benefits from the intellectual community of one of Canada's leading research universities.

The Doctoral Research Fellowship (DRF) at the Austria Centre at the University of Alberta is offered to promote young researchers.

In recent years, Austrian Wirth Institute fellows did their research in areas such as "Mountain Studies,"film history, Austrian history of literature, and music and history of Central Europe. Find here a report by former DRF Fellow Mirjana Plath.

Target group: Highly qualified doctoral candidates in the social sciences and humanities as well as music and dramatic arts

Aim: The grant's objective is to help optimise the recipient's doctoral thesis and to study and research for the dissertation.

Target university: Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies at the University of Alberta in Canada

Duration: 12 months from October 2023
