Freedom of Information Act
The Freedom of Information Act (IFG) came into force on September 1, 2025. This abolished official secrecy. In line with the principle of transparency, public universities are also obliged to proactively publish information of general interest.
In this context, reference is made to the bulletin of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (only available in German), in which essential information is available in accordance with Section 20 (6) UG (e.g., statutes, development plan, etc.). Further information can also be found in the Plan for the Advancement of Women and Equality Plan, as well as on the website.
In accordance with Section 5 of the Freedom of Information Act (IFG), the open data platform data.gv.at was designated as the information register.
For implementation at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the “IFG Contact Point” was set up in the Rectorate, which can be reached at ifg@akbild.ac.at. Requests for information should also be sent to this email address using the form. Information can be made available upon individual request, provided that there are no legally standardized reasons for confidentiality.
Further details are set out in the IFG Regulation by the Rectorate, Senate, and University Council and published in the Academy’s bulletin.
