Lisa Ortner-Kreil is mentor to Nicole Maria Winkler

Lisa Ortner-Kreil studied comparative literature, art history and Romance studies in Vienna, Innsbruck and Rome. Following engagements at the art magazine springerin in the Museums Quartier Wien, the Albertina Wien, and the Royal Museum of Art in Brussels, she has been curator at the Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien since 2013, where she has curated numerous exhibitions, including Gerhard Richter: Landscape 2020/21 (in cooperation with the Kunsthaus Zürich), Man Ray 2018, and Martin Kippenberger: XYZ 2016. She is currently preparing a major Kiki Kogelnik retrospective for spring 2023. She regularly organizes contemporary art projects at tresor and has developed and implemented several digital art education programs, including the video podcast "Curator's Diary", for Kunstforum. Lisa Ortner-Kreil is the author and editor of numerous publications on modern and contemporary art, a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts and the University of Vienna at the Institute of Art History, and a member of the jury for the Bank Austria Art Prize Carinthia. In April 2020, together with Barbara Horvath, she founded the contemporary art initiative art hoc projects, which brings internationally successful contemporary art to atypical places in order to open up new places and new audiences.
