Rebecca Korb | Bmkös

Rebecca Korb is mentee of Siggi Hofer

Rebecca Korb, *1991 in Wagna/Austria, completed her studies in Fine Arts as a master student at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. She lives and works in Leipzig. In addition to the Academy’s study award, she received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation and, in 2023, the Start-Scholarship for Visual Arts by Bmkös.

Shifts in perspective, ambivalence and the principle of play as a problem-solving strategy form the basis of Rebecca Korb's transdisciplinary work method.

In her artistic work she deals with her own biographical aspects as well as socially oriented topics. The constant change between practical action and theoretical reflection plays a crucial role, as does the research process, which is based on scientific principles.

For her, an important visual strategy of engagement is the use of existing material, modifying it and placing it in new contexts of meaning. At this point she sees a possible interface between art and everyday communication, which is becoming increasingly important in her artistic practice.
