Maren Lübbke-Tidow is mentor to Laura Sperl

Maren Lübbke-Tidow works as a freelance writer, editor, curator and lecturer. She lives in Berlin. Her main interest is the examination of contemporary photography and its forms of representation in the visual arts. To this end, she is in constant dialogue with photographers and other visual artists about their work and ways of thinking. Her texts have been published internationally in magazines, catalogs, artists' books and in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Together with artists, she initiated the interview project Lighting the Archive about systems of classification and archiving, which has been online since 2021.

From 1997 to 2017 Maren Lübbke-Tidow was involved in the project Camera Austria (Graz). From 2011 to 2014, as editor-in-chief, she was responsible not only for the content of the bilingual quarterly Camera Austria International, but also as curator for Camera Austria's exhibition program. She is also a lecturer and guest lecturer, most recently at the University of Cologne, the University of the Arts in Helsinki, the Berlin University of the Arts, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, among others. Since 2012 she has held a teaching position at the School of Artistic Photography in Vienna - Schule Friedl Kubelka.
