Amy Croft’s exhibition overlaps with the seminar “ Today’s Curatorial Practice ” scheduled to take place at the same time. Croft’s interest in built structures is part of her investigations into architectural practice. Her project will not provide a functional framework for the seminar, but rather explore methodological aspects of its subject on a more abstract level. Croft centers her attention on the role of social relationships and communicative processes, which are of decisive importance in architecture and curatorial work both during the conceptual phase of a project and its later use. One of her recent works in this field is based on an analysis of a participatory housing project by the architect Eilfried Huth, Graz. Croft’s installation relies on materials and forms of presentation which, in an albeit different way, served as means of communication and negotiation between the residents and the architect.
