A 20-minute experimental documentary by Hannes Buchwieser, Emil Eckert, Mario Perna and Julia Stang, which deals with self-injurious behavior and its wider context. Studio Art and Image | Figuration

Sancta Inuria is a 20-minute experimental documentary about the collaboration between Emil Eckert, Hannes Buchwieser and Mario Perna. The creation of a painting by Emil Eckert at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is shown from various camera perspectives and extended by footage of the performance artist Mario Perna, who embodies the motif of the painting and appears in studio shots from the University of Art and Design Linz. The video work is accompanied by music produced by Hannes Buchwieser and a jointly written text performed by actress Julia Stang from the Athanor Academy Passau. In addition to the artistic presentation, the focus is on a sociological and philosophical examination of self-harming behavior and ways of dealing with it.

Participants:
A cooperation between Emil Eckert (Art and Image | Figuration, Akbild, Vienna) Hannes Buchwieser (Time-based and Interactive Media Art, University of Art and Design Linz), Mario Perna (Performance Artist) and Julia Stang (Athanor Academy, Passau).
