This course focuses on facilitating the clear, concise and effective use of the English language in academic writing. It combines discussions of the formal aspects of academic writing in English with practical exercises. Topics of discussion include: the structural components of an academic text; giving feedback on academic writing; citation practices and the politics of citation; style guides; and navigating between artistic/creative writing and academic writing in English.
