City of Vienna | START-Studio
The goal of this programme is to support alumni_ae of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the fields of Fine Arts and Media Art by awarding studio spaces.
Target group
Visual artists who
- are at least 18 years old
- finished their studies between 1 August 2024 and 31 July 2026 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the fields of Fine Arts and Media Art with a Mag.art, M.A. or PhD
- have their primary residence in Vienna since at least 1 January 2024
Duration and scope of support
The programme awards temporary access of max. 2 years to work spaces called "START-Studios". These will probably be made available from March 2027 to February 2029 without rent or service charges as a part of shared studios.
The START-Studios are located near U4-Bahn station Pilgramgasse in the 6th disctrict. One work space is appr. 30 square meters.

Applications can be submitted between 1 and 31 July 2026 via an online form.
