Lena Holzer
Lena Holzer is mentee of Nela Eggenberger.
Lena Holzer, *1995, is an artist and designer working with photography and text. She graduated from the MA Photography & Society at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, NL, and holds a BA in Design and Art from the Free University of Bolzano, IT. She lives and works in Vienna.
In her artistic practice, she researches how societal norms of capitalist patriarchy relate to our behaviour as individuals, particularly in regard to intimacy, agency, and The Erotic (after Audre Lorde). She raises this question against the backdrop of her personal relationships. Throughout the process of making work, she creates ambiguous social settings and enters collaborative situations with (ex-)lovers, friends, competitors, neighbours, acquaintances and strangers, which she navigates through photography and auto-ethnographic writing.
