At the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the full time position of a Senior Scientist / Senior Artist for architectural design at the Institute for Art and Architecture is to be filled for a limited duration of 3 years, starting on 01.09.2010.

Application requirements:

Completed master's degree in architecture or qualification equivalent to a master's degree in architecture.

Required qualifications:

  • Applicants should demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the fields of Construction Material Technologies and preferably also in the fields of Ecology, Sustainability and Cultural Heritage
  • Experience in teaching and practice is required, as well as social skills and capacity for teamwork
  • the ability to assess complex architectural tasks in their social, methodological and technical dimensions;
  • Ability to conduct and publish research. At least one research topic in these fields is to be proposed as part of the application.
  • The ability to communicate methodological approaches.
  • The willingness and ability to take on organizational tasks and to work in a dynamic and independent manner.
  • An excellent command of English and German.

The application shall contain a description of the applicant's approach to research and its connection with teaching, in addition to previous course descriptions and student's works.  The enclosure of previously published work/articles would be valuable.
