The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna intends to appoint the positions:
Two artistic-scientific Assistants
according to § 100 UG 2002 at the Institute for Art and Architecture (full employment) for a period of 2 years with the possibility of extension (1 year). (Reference number 12/2007)
Requirements for application:
Completed master's degree in architecture or qualification equivalent to a master's degree in architecture.
Favoured qualifications:
Applicants should have in-depth expertise in two or more of the following fields:
- analogue, digital design
- geography, landscape, cities
- materials, structures, building technologies
- histories, theories, criticism
- ecology, conservation, sustainability
At least one research project in these fields is to be proposed as part of the application.
Experience in teaching and practice is required, as well as a profound knowledge of and the ability to communicate methodological approaches; the ability to assess complex architectural tasks in their social, methodological and technical dimensions; CAD skills; an excellent command of English; the willingness and ability to take on organizational tasks and to work in a dynamic and independent manner. Reflective intellectual and experimental work methods are a must.
The application should also contain a description of the applicant's teaching goals and approaches as well as previous course descriptions and student's works (max. 2 pages).
