Thematic Framework
The conceptual focus of the planned exhibition will follow the overarching theme of the DAS WEISSE HAUS annual program for 2026: IN(TER)DEPENDENCE, which offers a framework for understanding our shared existence on this planet beyond the limitations of binary notions of independence and dependence. Embracing interdependence enables a rethinking of our relationships with one another and with the more-than-human world, fostering more holistic, equitable, and sustainable approaches to living together. Situated at the intersections of science, art, and technology, the theme brings together societal, economic, educational, and political questions. It offers an opportunity to explore topics of symbiosis, mutual support, solidarity, equality, and survival. The artists are encouraged to present works and concepts that explore these interconnected relationships while questioning dominant narratives and established systems of thought.
