Smart Map of Jewish History - Geschichte digital erzählt. Project presentation with Aliosha Biz
Smart Map of Jewish History is a research project led by Herbert Peter, Institute for Education in the Arts. This evening, Christoph Lind (Injoest), Herbert Peter, and Juraj Sedivy (Comenius University Bratislava) will present the two project sections, Vienna and Lower Austria, provide insights into the project's fundamental ideas, and showcase initial digital implementations – including interactive 3D models.
Vienna, St. Pölten, Eisenstadt, Bratislava, and the surrounding region are linked by a long, shared Jewish history. This history remains relevant today, visibly and invisibly inscribed in the present – in the form of biographies, places of residence, (former) synagogues, and cemeteries. The "Smart Map of Jewish History," a project funded by the EU through the Interreg SK-AT program (#interregskat), will develop a digital tool – one could also call it a "reading device" – for these stories over the next three years. Using digitized materials, innovative e-tools, and 3D visualizations, the stories – and history itself – will become, in some places for the first time, "readable" and narratable.
These stories will be made accessible and narratable. Christoph Lind (Injoest), Herbert Peter (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna), and Juraj Sedivy (Comenius University Bratislava) will present the two project phases, Vienna and Lower Austria, this evening, offering insights into the project's fundamental ideas and showcasing initial digital implementations—including interactive 3D models.
