When school comes to the academy…

On Tuesday, 27th and Wednesday, 28th January 2026, workshops were held for the AHS Kenyongasse, a cooperation school of the Institute for Education in the Arts, in the workshops of Karl-Schweighofer-Gasse.

Around 50 students from the 1st and 3rd grades of the creative arts program at Kenyongasse School worked intensively with artists, immersing themselves in their respective creative processes for two mornings.

There were four different working groups: The students experimented with analog photography and darkroom techniques as tableaux vivants, designed functional textiles using screen printing, learned about three-dimensional paper design, and participated in shadow puppetry. The young people clearly enjoyed the spacious workshop atmosphere outside their usual school environment. This wonderful collaboration between a teacher training institution, independent artists, and the school was made possible by the OEAD funding program "Cultural Outreach with Schools."
