Academy Auction 2023: Bidding now possible!
The Academy Auction 2023 is online since today on www.dorotheum.com/akbild! Bids can be submitted until 20 January 2023, the proceeds will support students in precarious situations students in precarious living situations as well as the associations tralalobe and solidarity matters, which take care of refugees in Austria.

Representatives of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna wish for a continuation of the intensive cooperation with the trio of directors of the Kunsthalle Wien, especially in the promotion of young artists. With the departure of the Kunsthalle direction, Vienna's cultural landscape would be missing an important curatorial position!

The official subject of the Open Days 2023 is fixed!
The jury has chosen a work by Juliane Jungblut, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. The Open Days 2023 will take place from January 19 to 22 at all locations of the Academy.

ORANGE THE WORLD 2022

Robert Gabris honoured with the Belvedere Art Award 2022
Robert Gabris studied Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 2010–2014 and Costume and Set Design at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2006–2010).

Cost explosion due to price increase at Austria's universities
At this point, the Rectorate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna vehemently points out the urgent need for additional financing of the Austrian universities. Since the beginning of the drastic price increases, the Academy has also been waiting for a clear signal from the Ministry to cover the additional costs of maintaining a functioning university. We do not want to leave the current situation without comment and inform members of the Academy as well as the wider public about the drastic nature of the situation.
