The first two artists to be selected for the residency from April to June 2024 by a jury consisting of representatives of the Pueblo Museo Genalguacil and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna are Irene Lucas and Patricio Sota.

The 1st Elfriede Mejchar Prize for Photography 2024 is awarded to the photographer and artist Lisa Rastl, who was born in Lower Austria and lives and works in Vienna and Burgenland.

The University Library of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is on vacation. The Main Library and the Branch Library at the Institute for Education in the Arts will be closed from February 5 to 18, 2024.

The annual online auction of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in cooperation with Dorotheum Vienna, takes place for the tenth time in 2024. The proceeds will benefit students at the academy who are exposed to difficult living conditions - for example due to their nationality - as well as the initiatives tralalobe and solidarity matters, which support refugees in Austria.
